Description

Primary Function of Position

Intuitive Surgical is among the fastest-growing healthcare companies focused on medical technology.  Reporting into the sales organization, the Business Analyst works closely with sales and corporate leadership to help drive market adoption of da Vinci minimally-invasive robotic surgery.  The sales organization depends on the Sales Strategy Analyst to provide strategic market intelligence, resulting in increased competitive strength for the 700+ Intuitive Surgical field sales employees.

 
Role and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the business knowledge consultant for worldwide field sales management
  • Guide market decisions by providing opportunity insights to the sales team
  • Develop, articulate, and defend sales strategy recommendations on a routine basis
  • Provide detailed and actionable analysis to drive efficient performance
  • Participate with cross functional-teams to develop solutions to systematic issues
  • Execute Sales & Marketing updates with a focus on performance forecasting, strategic quota setting, territory design, Marketing goals, and physician education initiatives
  • Use data analytics to verify or dispel anecdotal insights collected by field sales
  • Translate data into meaningful business recommendations and actions
Qualifications

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field
  • 3+ years of analytical experience preferred and/or advanced degree
  • Desire to build a career with one of the most exciting organizations in the medical device industry
  • Desire to be part of a small, close-knit team of elite business analysts committed to the collective success of the team, the larger commercial organization, and the patients we serve
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision
  • High quantitative reasoning/application skills and ability to critically think through complexity as it arises
  • Aptitude to quickly understand causal relationships/cause and effect mapping
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to prioritize requests and deliver upon stakeholder expectations
  • Excellent written and oral communication with a dedicated customer orientation
  • Advanced Excel skills (MS Access preferred)
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau preferred), dashboard and report creation
  • Ability to leverage presentation tools (Powerpoint, Prezi, etc) to artfully craft a cohesive and impactful narrative
