Must be concurrently enrolled in a degree-seeking program with an accredited university or enrolled in an upcoming program in the fall.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This position has responsibility and authority for:
• Under the direction of the mentor• Develop the state-of-the-art algorithms in computational graphics and medical imaging.• Develop real-time renderings for information visualization and enhanced user experience.• Analyze data and report accuracy, precision and sensitivity of algorithms to uncertainties.• Evaluate system performance in operating room conditions.• Prepare documentation and user manuals for the system.
Competency is based on: education, training, skills and experience. In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the individual must:
• Ph.D. student (computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent) preferred• Proficiency in C/C++ programming is required.• Excellent background in software design and data structures is required.• Knowledge of GPU programming techniques and APIs such as Cuda or OpenCL is desired• Knowledge of scripting languages like python and MATLAB is a plus.• Experience with augmented reality and machine vision is a plus.• Familiarity with embedded system software design is a plus.• Must have excellent communication and writing skills.• Relevant peer-reviewed publications is a plus.
Commitment: Must be available to work full-time hours, M-F for 10-12 weeks beginning May or June.
