Position’s Objective & Summary:
This position will design and lead strategic and operational marketing programs specific for the Region while developing surgeon champions to support and drive adoption and growth of da VinciÒ surgical procedures. The initial focus will be in strategic growth areas for General Surgery with involvement in other specialties such as Urology, Gynecology and Thoracic Surgery.
This role will also be responsible for defining regional marketing priorities and delivering results in fast-changing businesses and regulatory environments, for building and leading a regional marketing team and working closely with the European and Global marketing group.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Create regional marketing strategy collaborating with GM, sales leadership and European marketing team
  • Hire, train and develop competencies for the Regional marketing team. Conduct Quarterly P&R to develop competencies of the team members
  • Conduct Weekly Meeting with team members to manage priorities
The primary function of this position is to be able to lead a Regional team, executing on the following global marketing standards:

Understand your market - Open/MIS rate, National outcomes, surgeon/patient/hospital segments, reimbursement levels, incumbent surgical techniques and KOLs etc.:
  • Develop and oversee execution of regional marketing tactics with a primary focus on growth areas like general surgery, but also managing urology, gynecology, thoracic, and other clinical areas with the country team. This will include detailed activities to be implemented in a defined timeline and budget in strong collaboration with the European marketing team and regional sales leadership
  • Lead strong partnership with clinical and capital sales teams in a growing competitive environment. Provide in-depth market knowledge to analysis, targeting and regional action planning purposes
  • Work closely as needed with product development teams to liaise with local surgeons to define product requirements to further enable key procedures
Accountable for alignment on target procedures/products - provides leadership and directions to define what is being driven and why within commercial organization and keep all teams focused on regional commercial strategy:
  • Work closely with Market Access and Clinical Affairs to develop and implement publication strategies that will support procedure adoption goals
  • Conduct Weekly Meeting with cross-functional team members to manage priorities
  • Collaborate with Training department to ensure the Regional sales team is fully conversant with product range . Deliver content for training and management meetings
Build Value Props Stories, Tools, Events and Engage 3Ps- (Physician, Patient, Provider):
  • Deliver corporate clinical & capital marketing and sales tools to achieve short and long-term goals for procedures /sales quotas, products and system sales (executive and clinical vision presentations, webinars, KOL videos and content, market development events, executive sessions, white papers, key publication summaries etc…)


Develop Speaker/Teacher/Case Obs/Executive KOLs - with strong technique, outcomes and use of advanced technology:
  • Partner with key regional surgeon champions (KOLs) to develop and implement leading robotic clinical education programs and symposia to drive competency and utilization of da VinciÒ Surgery
  • Develop and approve proctors based on surgical, clinical and teaching expertise to implement safe and effective reproducible surgical techniques with improve clinical outcomes
Quantify the impact (QTI) – clinical, economic, strategic evidence - of key dV surgeons/hospitals as references:
  • Work closely with European and Local Market Access Manager team to assist in development and execution of cost effectiveness/ value strategies in key markets
  • Collect, analyze and share competitive data for strategic positioning and initiatives
  • Validate Clinical and Economical data with Epicenters, reference case observation center, key surgeon champions (KOLs) and proctors
Accountable for alignment with relevant Surgical and Executive societies - on dV surgery to ensure support and partnership:
  • Ensure  Intuitive’s presence at key national conferences, including robotics symposia, post graduate (PG) courses, live surgical broadcasts, tradeshow booth promotion and presence

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • 10+ years of Clinical/Product marketing experience in a therapeutic medical device company,
  • 5+ years direct team or significant project management experience
  • Possess in-depth country / regional market knowledge; ability to provide expert advice and leadership to handle complex /unexpected issues
  • Ability to build a high performance team
  • Proven ability to effectively position and procedure/product messages and develop strong sales support to drive desired adoption
  • Surgical and/or Operating Theatre (Room) sales experience desired
  • Language (spoken and written): fluency in French and English
  • Bachelor's degree in life science or business discipline. MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated success in building clinical education and marketing programs to drive product/procedure growth
  • Superior verbal/written communication, teamwork, and interpersonal work across multiple constituents.
  • Self-starter with ability to take leadership in unstructured environment.
  • A keen ability to manage projects, keeping to budget, organizing, prioritizing and coping with multiple tasks
  • Strong knowledge of the MS Office product suite
  • Ability to travel 60%. International travel required
