Position’s Objective & Summary:

Intuitive has established the preeminent position in surgical robotics with presence in more than 60 countries around the world. In the strategically important South Korean market we are looking for a senior leader who, as General Manager, can significantly impact the adoption of da Vinci surgery in the South Korea. The General Manager will be in charge of developing and executing both short and long term strategies to achieve the business goals with full accountability the regions P&L. The successful leader will need to demonstrate a broad set of business and interpersonal skills in support of the following responsibilities:

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead a strong team in developing and managing the country strategy, ensuring successful business growth in both short and long term timeframes
• Nurture the Intuitive Individual And Leadership Expectations throughout the organization and create an environment of continuous personal and professional development
• Lead, develop and mentor the South Korean senior leadership team. Coach the team towards high performance, talent retention, efficiency, and effectiveness
• Build a positive company image and increase market acceptance by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees
• Lead by example the highest expectations of legal and compliance standards with direct responsibility for regulatory affairs and quality assurance functions specific to South Korea
• Be responsible for developing a strong network of Key Opinion Leaders to promote the rapid adoption of the da Vinci® Surgical System in all approved surgical procedures
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with government bodies and healthcare executives
• Collaborate with and drive efforts from the market access, clinical affairs, business development, marketing, communication and government affairs organizations in order the reach the business goals
• Accountability for the revenue and expenses directly attributable to the territory


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Exceptional leadership skills with deep business acumen
• Ability to take thorough understanding of market, trends, technology and opportunities in the South Korean market converting it to activities that increase business success
• 15 plus years of leadership experience, including experience as a General Manager for medical devices with responsibility in managing P&L
• Ability to build and operate within positive professional business relationships at various levels of public, government and clinical environments
• Experience in senior level Sales and Marketing positions in the medical device industry
• Proven track record in leading, motivating and developing a high achieving sales force in a fast growing organization
• Proven track record in taking strategic thinking through to setting objectives and delivering results
• Written and verbal fluency in English
• Bachelor’s degree in business or medical related field required, with advanced degree strongly preferred
• Ability to travel 30-50% required
• Track record of developing great leaders
• Outstanding and natural business ethics
