Position’s Objective & Summary:

Develop, implement, and execute marketing strategies / tactics for da Vinci Systems and related products.  Work  jointly  with  marketing,  training,  customer  service  and  sales  teams   to  achieve quarterly   sales   quotas   /   goals   for   new   products   and   system  sales.    Lead    the   coordination    and     launch     of     executive programs, EcoSystem messaging, new   surgical   platforms   and instruments to   both surgeons and hospital administrators.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work cooperatively with marketing team and field sales management (Capital and Clinical), across all European Regions, to successfully target and sell new and existing customers on implementing a da Vinci Surgery programs in their institution
  • Conduct solo and joint capital sales calls with field sales to targeted surgeons, hospital administrators, and allied health professionals to initiate and enhance da Vinci Surgery programs
  • Develop and partner with executive champions, executive validations and Executive Sessions for  hospital CEOs and CFOs in each target market to assist in the development of new da Vinci markets throughout Europe
  • Work cooperatively with Global, European marketing team and field sales management to build strategic plans and successfully launch newda Vinci    platforms and instruments  to  multiple surgical specialties. Includes creation of sales support tools, brochures and presentations customized for the European market
  • Use SFDC and market research to create and analyze da Vinci System opportunities and placement trends, giving guidance to Regional General Managers and sales leadership teams
  • Present capital sales strategies, marketing segmentation strategies, new product launches to sales team via podium presentations and hands-on tutorials at quarterly sales meetings and tradeshow events
  • Train field sales team on surgeon targeting, product positioning, sales support, and key marketing programs to drive new product sales   attending regional and European sales meetings
  • Work with the Director of Training – EMEIA to develop efficient training protocols, courses, sales tools, and educational materials for the launch and introduction of new surgical platforms and simulation
  • Work closely with finance and the service team to create pricing models and packages to best meet current and future customer needs to expand da Vinci footprint
  • Provide Tender support for current and new da Vinci System platforms
  • Attend key tradeshows, conferences, and symposia as “Gen4 System specialist” and assist with new product test-drives, new product unveiling opportunities (i.e., innovation rooms, KOL product demonstrations)
  • Work closely with Regional Market Access Directors to  develop and refine hospital level  ROI models and business planning tool templates for European hospitals and their executive leadership using Intuitive EcoSystem and other QTI tools
  • Collect and assess data on competitive market entry and develop an EMEIA competitive strategy, positioning & execution plan

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

    • At least 7 years of marketing and sales experience in a medical device company, with 2 years of product or capital management experience preferred
    • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to take leadership in a high-growth environment, leading cross-functional team work across multiple constituents
    • Proven strong project management skills
    • Fluent in English, with either French or German preferred
    • Surgical and/or Operating Theatre (Room) experience a must
    • Proven ability to effectively position and message product/procedure and  develop strong sales support to drive product/procedure adoption
    • Demonstrated success in building clinical and economical education programs to drive product/procedure growth
    • Demonstrated ability to work creatively amidst competing priorities to develop high- impact sales programs on-time and within budget, to support overall marketing strategies and business objectives
    • Superior verbal/written communication, Excellent podium presentation skills and experience with presenting to C-level  managers
    • Strong knowledge of the MS Office product suite
    • Ability to travel 50%. International travel required

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in life science or business discipline, MBA preferred
    • Management experience preferred
