Primary Function:

The Group Product Marketing Manager or Sr. Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the design, go-to-market launch, and achievement of company goals for prospective service solutions. This person is responsible for identifying unmet customer needs and designing compelling new service solutions or incremental improvements to existing offerings. The services developed and launched will contribute to customer success, customer satisfaction, system utilization and SSM profitability. The marketing manager will lead new ways of thinking about the company’s services and will evolve the strategy and value proposition of services with an emphasis on customer intimacy. With an initial emphasis on upstream marketing, they will feed the pipeline with pure service solutions and service-plus-technology solutions that prepare our customers, service organizations, and sales organizations for long-term success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Define the service vision, working closely with Director of Product Marketing and other key stakeholders, to deliver winning service products and solutions
• Develop and sustain the maintenance and customer service roadmap and strategy prioritizing projects that improve customer satisfaction, reduce customer variation and drive operational efficiencies for customers while balancing corporate profitability
• Create compelling value propositions, value positioning, and messaging at the start of services development and as a part of launch strategy.
• Represent the voice of the customer during service and/or product development stages thereby driving requirements and gate reviews.
• Obtain customer insights through frequent field time, customer focus groups, and collaboration with market research. During development, own requirements with feedback from customers, customer service, field service and sales. During commercialization, close the feedback loop with marketing and customer service groups to revise promotional and downstream strategies.
• Monitor the adoption of service offerings, forecast changes to adoption and implications to customer satisfaction, profitability, and operational needs.
• Collaborate with customer service, regional marketing and sales teams in executing worldwide launch of service programs and products.
• Measure effectiveness of services through adoption and post-launch feedback, in conjunction with SSM leaders.
• Collaborate with customer success, customer service & field service teams to sustain and drive continued adoption and satisfaction with service offerings, thereby inducing a multiplier effect to drive results.
• Represent the service organization in corporate marketing, strategy and branding discussions to ensure proper alignment and representation.

• Market research & voice of customer plans to collect data and drive decision making
• Refined feedback and insights that can drive action, define strategy and justify projects
• Market & Program requirements for service & customer service solutions
• Launch plans and product launch books to drive impactful launches of service solutions

Skill/Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in life science, engineering or business discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Product Manager, Product Marketing Manager, Service Marketing or equivalent leadership role with a history of defining, developing and/or launching successful products and/or service programs
• Experience with service or customer service is highly desired.
• Ability to provide impactful and influential presentation with cross-functional audiences
• Ability to build important internal and external relationships
• History of leading high-achieving cross-functional teams including work with sales, operations, engineering, and/or marketing.
• Demonstrated ability to work creatively amidst competing priorities
• Superior verbal/written communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills to work across multiple constituents.
• Self-starter with ability to take leadership in an unstructured environment.
• Must be well versed in MS Office Suite.
• Based in Sunnyvale, CA.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time. Some international travel may be required.
