Primary Function of Position:

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the planning, go-to-market launch, and achievement of company goals related to Instrument & Accessories (I&A) Services. I&A Services include but are not limited to instrument reprocessing, I&A kitting, ordering & material flow optimization. This person is responsible for identifying unmet customer needs and designing compelling new service solutions and incremental improvements to existing offerings. They will feed the pipeline with pure service solutions and service-plus-technology solutions that prepare our customers and service organizations for long-term success. As a part of their support for instrument reprocessing they will serve as a consultant to development core teams to ensure proper user-based requirements and design for reprocessing. This cross-functional position is uniquely positioned to work closely with the field based sterile reprocessing specialists, customer training, product support, instrument engineering teams, and post market surveillance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify, justify and support development of new I&A services.
• Create compelling value propositions and messaging related to I&A services including how the value propositions fit into the overall corporate strategy.
• Support existing services as an internal subject matter expert handling customer concerns escalated by sales, marketing and customer service to mitigate customer dissatisfaction and improve the customer experience.
• Collaborate with industry partners to identify, prioritize, co-develop and/or co-market products & services. This may include new kitting partners, digital or workflow solutions for CSSD, and physical products in CSSD to drive workflow optimization and satisfaction.
• Represent the voice of the customer during I&A service development stages thereby driving requirements and gate reviews for projects.
• Collaborate with customer service, regional marketing and sales teams in executing worldwide launch & on-going support of I&A services.
• Collaborate with customer success, customer service & field service teams to sustain and drive continued adoption and satisfaction with service offerings.
• Work cooperatively with sterile reprocessing specialists and sales management to launch new reprocessing documentation (manuals, wall charts, and training) to installed da Vinci users around the globe.
• Manage inputs from sterile reprocessing specialist, customers, and new product verification engineering to prioritize improvements to reprocessing instructions and processes.
• Serve as an ad-hoc subject matter expert or reprocessing consultant for other product managers and engineering core teams who are developing reusable devices ensuring proper focus and consistency is applied to reprocessing practices across the da Vinci product lines.
• Collaborate with industry partners from cleaning and sterilization companies to ensure proper cross-promotion and/or co-development of technology that assists in the reprocessing of da Vinci products.

Key Deliverables:

• I&A services roadmap
• Business cases for new or expanded I&A services and industry collaborations
• Metrics and dashboards monitoring performance against business cases for I&A services
• Refined feedback and insights gained through customer & sales interviews, customer observations and customer focus groups with an emphasis on hospital operations.
• Product requirements for reprocessing and I&A service support
• Training plans to prepare customer service, sterile reprocessing specialists and sales for launch of new services.
 
Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Knowledge of hospital operations required. Knowledge of sterile processing department highly desired.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a therapeutic or medical device company required.
• Proven record of accomplishment of collaboration cross-functionally with R&D, Operations and Customer Service a must.
• Demonstrated ability to work creatively amidst competing priorities to develop high-impact sales programs on-time and within budget, to support overall marketing strategies and business objectives
• Superior verbal/written communication, teamwork, and interpersonal work across multiple constituents.
• Excellent podium presentation skills and experience with presenting to surgeons and hospital purchasing managers.
• Self-starter in a high-growth environment.
• Ability to prioritize and smoothly manage multiple competing deadlines and tasks.
• Strong knowledge of the MS Office product suite
• Ability to travel 30% with potential for increased travel during the on-boarding experience.
