Primary Function of Position:
The ideal candidate for the position of Sr. Linux Engineer will have proven experience in installing/configuring Linux and Windows servers and open-source applications interoperating with Active Directory in a highly secured cloud environment.
This position requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with highly technical peers, and the capability to manage work load among changing priorities, alternating between design and risk assessment tasks, project work and hands on validation, testing and troubleshooting.
Roles and Responsibilities:
SME on Linux and Windows in a windows AD environment, this position is part of the Operations team and will work closely with SME Network, Database/Storage, and System Engineers to design, deploy and maintain development and production infrastructures.
• Install, configure, and deploy Redhat servers; prepare and maintain SOPs• Manage Redhat Satellite and on-going configuration automation• Manage devops automation tools not limited to Ansible Tower, Jenkins, and Dockers• Provide support for various open source applications such as Hadoop, ElasticSearch, and MongoDB• Monitor and administer Linux/Windows servers and network systems, keeping system information up-to-date• Participate in the planning and design of Engineering infrastructure projects• Management of compute platform: Cisco UCS B & C series, VMware, and AWS cloud platform• Troubleshoot and repair system and network issues in multiple data centers• Provides off-hours support for critical applications

• Be a team player, able to interface with highly technical SME’s across multiple disciplines to reach best-in-class solutions• Be highly passionate about quality, robustness and Patient Safety• B.S in Computer Science or related technical major• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Linux system administration and 4 years’ experience in Windows Server/AD administration• Minimum 5 years’ experience with AWS technologies: EC2, Storage, VPC networking, VPNs, Route 53, Lambda, RDS, ELB/Load balancer etc.• Experience with the configuration and maintenance of LDAP or Identity Management in a multi-site environment• Experience with NAS/SAN storage and Cisco UCS technology• Expert level knowledge with VMware or KVM hypervisors• Expert level knowledge with networking protocols such as: TCP/IP, DNS, Bind, DHCP, PKI, Samba• Extensive experience with Redhat Satellite• Experience with implementation of Identity Management with Microsoft AD, LDAP• Experience with database systems (MySQL and/or SQL Server)• Experience with Enterprise monitoring tools like Nagios, Cacti• Experience with scripting: bash, perl, and/or python• Extensive experience with infrastructure-as-a-code using set of cloud technologies such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible• Experience with AWS Architecture and Services• Knowledge of application deployment and data migration on AWS• Knowledge of monitoring, logging and cost management tools that integrate with AWS• Experience using SIEM / log management tools such as Splunk, ElasticSearch• Self-motivated and constantly looking for continuous improvement of process and technologies• Exceptional organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work efficiently/effectively in a fast-paced environment, under stress and within time constraints• Demonstrated ability to stay up-to-date on current technologies and recent developments in relevant technologies, and to evaluate new technologies as seen fit• Excellent documentation skills• Ability to drive projects to successful completion• Physical ability to work with rack mounted equipment in a production data center environment• Location: Sunnyvale, CA Headquarters• Travel: <10%
