Description

Intuitive Surgical, the manufacturer of the da Vinci Surgical Robot, has a recent opening to their commercial operations in Japan due to a recent promotion.  The Sr. Manager, Commercial Operations for Japan reports to the Sr. Director of Commercial Operations-Asia Pacific, and will be responsible for supporting the Intuitive Surgical organization in Japan.  This involves identifying and utilizing ISI resources that can help support the Intuitive Surgical Japan team, the Sr. Director of Commercial Operations, and ISI corporate leadership in the development, expansion and support of in-country Intuitive Surgical appropriate business processes.  The position requires a number of attributes including expert-level knowledge of ISI clinical and capital sales processes, the use of da Vinci, the ability to build a team of advocates within an organization and strong solution selling skills.  She/ He is expected to provide an extraordinarily high level of communication internally and externally.  Collaborate with multiple Intuitive Surgical departments, domestic and internationally, to create actionable information for Senior Executive Leadership and all applicable working groups for appropriate execution.  In addition, he/she should be an expert in internal and external customer interactions with da Vinci material and gathering customer feedback to ensure the appropriate strategic direction, seamless integration of successful business processes with the team and appropriate execution that helps drive successful business results.
 
Roles & Responsibilities:
 
This position has responsibility and authority for:
 
  • Provide support and training to all relevant ISI employees and representatives in developing and implementing all aspects of clinical business, procedures and the capital sales process.
  • Educate and implement all sales and marketing tools.
  • Effectively outline metrics involved in the initial sales and installation of da Vinci programs to drive procedural volume and growth.
  • Work closely with all relevant ISI departments located in Sunnyvale, Atlanta and global offices, including Strategy, Marketing and Corporate Communications to implement new programs as supported by local leadership.
  • Ensure disciplined reporting on the evolution of the local business
  • Expert in both internal and external customer presentations to support scalable business process to support execution of results.
  • Work closely with ISI Japan leadership and ISI leadership in the development of the clinical/capital team business results.
  • Work closely with ISI, ISJ leadership team and Sales Training department in the strategic plan and execution of the sales training and leadership development.
  • In collaboration with ISI and Customer Training departments, organize and coordinate surgeon training activities utilizing the Technical Training Pathway (TTP) for new and existing surgeons.
  • Identify and assist with developing regional sales strategies to support the adoption of da Vinci surgery.
  • Support the development of strategic National and Regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s), reference and epicenters.
Qualifications

  • 6+ years’ experience managing Clinical Sales in the medical device with knowledge of the operating room environment
  • 4 + years of ISI clinical management experience
  • Proven track record of achieving clinical goals and implementing successful da Vinci programs
  • Strong leadership skills with deep business acumen
  • Outstanding and natural business ethics
  • Ability to travel up to 60% both within Japan, and internationally
  • This position is based in the U.S., ideally the Sunnyvale area.
