Primary Function of this Position:

The Engineer Cloud Operations will be responsible to maintain all SaaS infrastructure hosted in public / private cloud environments. They will provide direction and implementation of best practices for the architecture & design of servers and services, which will help with the strategic vision for scaling and growth.

This position reports to Sr Manager Infratructure, IT. The primary responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day cloud operations in dynamic on premises and AWS environments
• Maintain customer-facing, mission-critical 24/7 production services
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot operating systems, networks and applications
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance and upgrades, including instance patching and replacement.
• Review and maintain monitoring systems for both infrastructure and applications
• Provide infrastructure level support for Production, Development and QA environments
• Drive best practices for operational policies and procedures, including communication, change and incident management
• Create and maintain documentation related to cloud operations
• Participate in an on-call rotation
• Design and Review could application Architectures.
• Enforce technical and security standards for Cloud Infrastructure and services.
• Identifying appropriate use of AWS operational best practices.
• Build Infra structure for cloud-based applications with end to end automation.
• Deploying, managing, and operating scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems on public and private cloud.
• Maintain Cloud Backup solution.
• Implementing and controlling the flow of data to and from AWS.
• Implementing and maintaining New Branching strategies for development teams to support.
• Trunk, development baseline codes along with several feature branches.
• Work closely with Developers and QE to support day to day operations
• Writing deployment scripts, debugging application issues, and evaluating new technologies.
• Delivering 12x7 operations through a customer-focused approach including responding to production alerts.
• Implementing system level and application performance monitoring metrics using various monitoring tools like Splunk, Nagios and Dynatrace.
• Documentation and review standards and operational procedures for cloud IF.
• Will be part of DevOps team for on-premise and cloud applications.

Skill/Job Requirements: 

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science with 5 years of experience, or Masters degree in Computer Science with 2+ years experience, developing systems architecture for complex solutions.
• Have excellent working knowledge of AWS networking concepts, including the management and troubleshooting of VPC’s, IP Address Ranges, Route Tables, Subnets, Elastic Load Balancers, Auto-scaling Groups, and Security Groups.
• Have proven experience in delivering full products, projects, or solutions in Amazon Web Services using automated technologies and tools for Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD).
• Good grasp of fundamental security concepts with hands-on experience in implementing security controls and compliance requirements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work well in a dynamic, collaborative team environment
• Working knowledge of risk management and standards.
